“Before I started working out with Victor, the heaviest weight I’d pick up was 15lbs. I felt like I was getting decent workouts in, but didn’t feel strong.  I never felt comfortable in gyms, didn’t know how to use all the the equipment, and felt self conscious and out of place. “Before I started working out with Victor, I had my 4th child the previous year and was finding it increasingly stressful/challenging at work (lots of long meetings, frequent travel, and little time to focus on my health).  A wake-up call for me was one-year after having my baby, when the doctor told me I had gained 12 pounds in one year.  That had never happened to me before!  With my previous children, I always eventually lost weight after they were born… not the other way around. I had never done any personal training in my life. I played on many sports team from all throughout my childhood, high school, and even intramural sports in college. I was also an avid runner all through graduate school and my post-doc. But I never did any personal training. I was not sure I would like the attention of someone watching me workout, quite honestly. Ever since starting training, I have made a lot of progress physically in terms of getting stronger. I can lift heavier weights than when I started 3 years ago. Otherwise it is very easy to become swallowed up in the “hamster wheel” of life and focus on everyone and everything else that needs my attention. Just a big THANK YOU to Victor. “Hey everyone- if anybody is looking to change things up a bit and work with a personal trainer, I would like to put out a recommendation for Victor Anderson. I was looking to ensure I had proper form with exercises I was already doing, as well as learn new exercises and routines. Victor introduced me to programs for all major muscle groups. If it was something I’ve done before, he made sure I had good form. Improper form is corrected immediately. If it was new to me, he took time to demonstrate the exercise as well as briefly tell me why I was doing it. Each time we meet, I learn and do something different or try to improve upon what I’ve done. Most importantly is Victor’s enthusiasm for what he does and the motivation and challenge he provides. If something appears to be getting easy, he increases the intensity. He doesn’t let you cut corners, and don’t even try to put down the weight before the set is up—you’ll hear about it!
